Then why not join the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists)

You pay a one off fee and this will also pay for your Advanced Driving Test, You will do all the training in your own car and this is free.

You will have to pay a small fee on a yearly bases and this is to keep your membership up to date.

Recognising that the majority of collisions are caused by driver error, the IAM 's Advanced Driving Test was introduced in1956 with the specific objective of significantly improving driving standards using the principles of Advanced Driving Pioneered - and applied with great success - by the Metropolitan Police.

The Advanced Driving Test last for about 90 minutes and will usually cover between 30 an 40 miles along all types of roads, town driving, motorways (if available)  or dual carriageways, and even country lanes.

Check and Assessment Drives

These normally take place on the First Sunday of each month at Midsummer Meadow Car Park, Bedford Road, northampton (Near Avon Cosmetics and Becketts Park)

Note: alternative venue in exceptional circumstances in the Borough Council offices, Cliftonville.
